One of the greatest things you can do as a freelancer is continuously learning - by learning you are levelling up your abilities and knowledge on how to be a better person in every aspect by those who have expertise in a specific subject. It doesn't matter how you listen to audio books or enjoy sitting down and getting stuck into a book. I've found that one of the most beneficial ways to consume content is to actually read and have an audiobook if you can afford it.
I've collated some of my favourite books that will level up your freelance career and change your life.
1. "The E-Myth Revisited" by Michael Gerber
This classic book provides a step-by-step guide to building a successful small business. Gerber explains the common mistakes that entrepreneurs make and shows how to avoid them. He also provides practical advice on how to build a business that can run without you, so you can focus on the things you love to do.

2. "How to Grow Your Small Business: A 6-Step Plan to Help Your Business Take Off" by Donald Miller
"How to Grow Your Small Business: A 6-Step Plan to Help Your Business Take Off" is a comprehensive guide that provides business owners with a strategic approach to scale their businesses. The book outlines a six-step plan that includes assessing your current business situation, setting clear and achievable goals, developing a growth strategy, implementing the action plan, monitoring progress, and making necessary adjustments. It provides practical advice, tips, and real-life examples to help business owners overcome challenges, optimize operations, and achieve sustainable growth. By following this structured approach, business owners can create a roadmap for success, increase revenue, and take their business to the next level.

3. Atomic Habits
"Atomic Habits" is a self-help book written by James Clear. The book delves into the science behind how habits are formed, how they affect our lives, and how understanding this process can help us to build better habits. Clear explains that habits are the compound interest of self-improvement, and small changes or improvements can lead to significant results over time. He offers practical strategies and techniques to break bad habits, develop good ones, and create a system for continuous, incremental improvement. The book is built around the central idea that small, consistent changes (or 'atomic habits') can lead to remarkable results in the long run.
4. "The Power of Networking" by Diane Darling.
Networking is an essential component of any small business, and as a freelancer, you need to be able to build strong relationships with potential clients and partners. This book provides practical advice on how to network effectively and how to leverage your network to grow your business.
5. "The Small Business Start-Up Kit" by Peri Pakroo
This book provides a comprehensive guide to starting and running a small business. It covers everything from writing a business plan to registering your business and obtaining licenses and permits. It also includes sample forms and templates that you can use to get your business up and running quickly.
In addition to these books, it's important to stay current on the latest trends and best practices in your industry. Consider joining a professional association or attending conferences and networking events to stay informed and connected with other freelancers and small business owners. With the right knowledge and resources, you can build a successful and sustainable business as a freelancer.
